Barb Van Andel-Gaby

Barb Van Andel-Gaby is a member of Alticor Inc.s Board of Directors.
Mrs.Van Andel-Gaby is the youngest child of Jay Van Andel, who with his lifelong friend and business partner, Rich DeVos, started Amway from their homes in Ada, Mich., with the direct sale of a single cleaning product in 1959. In four decades, Amway became a multi-billion dollar international corporation and one of the world's largest direct selling companies.
In October 2000, Amway became one of three subsidiaries under a new parent company, Alticor, along with two sister companies: Quixtar Inc., a Web-based business in North America; and Access Business Group LLC, a business services provider.
In addition to her position as Alticor board member, Mrs. Van Andel-Gaby serves as chief executive officer of Peter Island Resorts.
Mrs. Van Andel-Gaby is a member of the Grand Rapids Lodging Association, the American Society of Travel Agents and the National Association of Female Executives. She is listed in Who's Who of American Women.
Born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Mrs. Van Andel-Gaby graduated cum laude with a bachelor's degree from Hope College and earned her MBA from Indiana University.
Mrs. Van Andel-Gaby is the sister of Alticor Chairman Steve Van Andel. Her other siblings include brother Dave Van Andel and sister Nan Van Andel. Mrs. Van Andel-Gaby is the wife of Richard Gaby. They have five children.
