Cheri DeVos VanderWeide

Cheri DeVos Vander Weide is a member of Alticor Inc.'s Board of Directors.

Mrs. DeVos Vander Weide is the third child and only daughter of Alticor co-founder Rich DeVos, who with his lifelong friend and business partner, Jay Van Andel, started Amway from their homes in Ada, Michigan with the direct sale of a single cleaning product in 1959. In four decades, Amway became a multi-billion dollar business and one of the worldÂ’s largest direct selling companies.

In October 2000, Amway became one of three subsidiaries under a new parent company, Alticor, along with two sister companies: Quixtar Inc., a Web-based business in North America; and Access Business Group LLC, a business services provider.

Before leaving day-to-day responsibilities in 2000, Mrs. DeVos Vander Weide served as Amway's vice president of corporate affairs. Her prior responsibilities include director of health and beauty marketing. She also has worked in the company's management training program.

Most recently, Mrs. DeVos Vander Weide was executive vice chair, RDV Sports. She has also served as a project specialist for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, executive vice chairman of the Governing Board of the Orlando Magic NBA basketball team, chairman of the Orlando Magic Youth Foundation and chairman of the DeVos Children's Hospital Committee. She has been a trustee for United Arts of Central Florida, a board member of the University of Central Florida Foundation, a member of the Hope College Business Advisory Council and director of the Michigan Chapter of Operation Smile.

Born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Mrs. DeVos Vander Weide graduated from Grand Rapids Christian High School and earned a degree in business administration from Hope College in Holland, Mich.

Mrs. DeVos Vander Weide is the sister of Alticor President Doug DeVos. Her other brothers include Dan DeVos, also a member of the Alticor Board of Directors, and former Alticor President Dick DeVos. She is the wife of Robert A. Vander Weide. They have four children.
