James McClung

McClung is currently Vice Chairman of Charter Consulting, focusing on operational processes. Prior to his current position he served as a senior vice president and executive officer of FMC Corporation, one of the world's leading producers of chemicals, machinery and defense equipment. During his tenure at FMC he held top management positions both internationally and domestically. He served as President of African, European and Canadian operations.

McClung has over 30 years of FMC global business experience which has taken him to more than 75 countries, and he played a major role in FMC's international growth to annual revenues over $2.5 billion. He accelerated growth by expanding the global customer base through innovative marketing, strategic alliance and sourcing strategies. He also developed new technologies and production processes to improve capabilities, operational performance and profitability.

He presently serves as a Board Director of Turtle Wax (automotive appearance and performance chemicals), Nanophase Technologies Corporation (nanotechnology company), NCCI Holdings, Inc. (workers compensation rating and statistical agency), and Beaulieu of America (carpets manufacturer).

In addition, he is a founding member of the U.S. Russia Business Council, and is active in other international business organizations such as the U.S. China Business Council, Japan American Society, Economic Club of Chicago, and the Chicago Council of Foreign Relations. McClung serves as a Board Director at Illinois Institute of Technology, the American Graduate School of International Management (Thunderbird School), the College of Wooster (Ohio) and the North Shore Country Day School. He continues to be active in a number of civic, cultural, community and educational organizations.

McClung earned a bachelor's degree from the College of Wooster in Wooster, Ohio, a master's degree from the University of Kansas and a doctorate from Michigan State University.
